Hagar New Zealand exists for one compelling reason. To do whatever it takes for as long as it takes to restore a broken life. Consider young Eang. Sold into the sex trade at 6 years old by her mother, she was only rescued after five long years. Despite this dark past, Eang is learning to trust. She is 13 now. She is healing. She is learning to hope. Your gifts make the long journey of recovery possible for girls like Eang.
Your gifts also make it possible to raise awareness and transform the lives of the abused, the exploited and the rejected in New Zealand and around the world.
The best way you can bring lasting change is to set up a regular automatic payment or Direct Debit to Hagar's work.
On July 25, 2008, Hagar's Aftercare Program was featured on NBC Dateline. The hour-long documentary was designed as a follow-up to a 2004 program, when NBC Dateline went on an undercover raid of Phnom Penh brothels. Several girls, rescued at very young ages, have been in Hagar's care ever since. This eight minute clip New Hope for Rescued Girls first highlights another organization in Cambodia, and the last half includes the story of 'our' four girls, and their recovery.
